Week One

What have you learnt this week from looking at the mark scheme and peer assessing previous work?
What I have learnt this week from looking at the mark scheme is that firstly how everything is strictly sectioned and the boundaries are clear between each grade. Also what is expected from me and what I am now aiming towards. The mark scheme to me is a useful piece of information because I can use it as a guide and also a checklist in some ways, I can always refer back to it to make sure I have completed things or have done it to the standard that the grade I'm aiming for recommends. The mark scheme includes levels 1-4. Four being the highest and 1 being the lowest. What I am aiming for is from levels 3-4. The mark scheme includes information on research, planning tasks and the evaluation.

How will this inform your production?
This will inform my production by firstly awakening my awareness and give me good, solid understanding on what the examiners are looking for. When doing my work I will always remember to take into consideration everything because it will help improve my grade. When it comes to production I will make sure to include things which get me the high grades which is sticking to the social realism conventions which got high marks in previous candidates work and also having a narrative which keeps the audience wanting more like another previous candidates work who got high marks.
What will you try to emulate/avoid?
What I will try to avoid is trying to slip away from the conventions of an opening sequence and not taking into account of British Social Realism. I will try to make sure to pay attention to detail in my work whether is be in camera work and editing for e.g making sure I stick to the 180 degree rule when I work or make sure my editing is continuous. And also do the same withing the mise-en-scene making sure the framing is correct and making sure there is nothing in there which doesn't fit into category. And lastly when it comes to music make sure that I don't have anything that is copy righted and make sure every piece of sound used is my own.
